Sorry for not keeping up with the blog of late. Things have been crazy these past few weeks. I have been working on a new house my girlfriend and I just purchased, work has been going crazy with our trunk show and x-mas, and some other personal challenges. BUT I AM BACK!!
Anyways, I was speaking with a few gentleman the other day and they were asking me questions about what is appropriate in business clothing these days. (Because of the nature of my work, I tend to get bombarded with these questions every time I am out..) The conversation revolved around when it is appropriate to wear brown shoes. So I figured I would outline when to wear what type of shoes in general:
- Brown Lace-Up's - Blue Suit, Light Gray Suit, any Earth Tone Suit, Possible Sport Coat Combo (Scoot)
- Black Lace-Up's - Dark Gray Suit, Black Suit, Tux
- Brown Slip-On's - Blue, Light Gray, or Earth Tone Dress Slacks and a Button up With or without a Sport Coat, Jeans, Khakis
- Black Slip On's - Black or Dark Gray Dress Slacks and a Button up With or without a sport coat, Jeans (when the outfit requires)
I am finding that the younger my clients are the more open they are to wearing brown shoes with almost everything. Its a statement when you strap Brown Shoes on with a Gray suit!!
Overall remember the RULE OF THUMB HERE: "Every Suit Deserves Laces"
Until Next Time,
DGN
