I just got off my conference call for my NEW Spring Line, and I learned a TON!
Colors for Spring
I just got off my conference call for my NEW Spring Line, and I learned a TON!
Colors for Spring
- Coral, Light Blue, Lavender and Aqua are going to be this years in colors.
Resort / Country Club Wear
- This seasons must haves are plaid shorts. They can be warn with either a t-shirt or a button down.
New (Old) Idea
- Make sure to pick up a few light weight sweaters. These are great for the 8am tee time when its still chilly.
Plaid Sport Coat
- Whether eating dinner at the club, or attending a show in the park, every gentleman should own a plaid sport coat. Its a nice way to dress up your look for an evening out.
More to come on this topic as Spring is about to be here!

Cool President Story
All,
On the Afternoon of the State of the Union, I would like to pass along a cool story I just learned about my company.
The Tom James Company has made Suits and Shirts and Sport Coats etc. for many of the Presidents since we were founded in 1966. We, as a company, have purchased many of the finest clothing producers from around the world.
One of the companies that we purchased is English American or EA. EA is the worlds largest producer of custom clothing. In November of 1963 they had several suits on the production floor that were made exclusively for JFK. He did not get those suits because of the tragity in Dallas. Some of the suits are still framed in the offices of the management at EA.
Who does our current President consult with on his wardrobe?? NOT Tom James.
If anyone knows him and thinks he could look better then the baggy suits he is currently putting on every morning. Send him my way!!

How Much Should I Spend on Clothing??
All,
I get this question more than any other these days... With times being tough, and people pinching pennies.. What percentage of income should be spent on business attire??
While it is totally a personal decision on what clothing to buy, or how much to spend.. AND the number could fluctuate depending on need. My recommendation is always:
Over the course of a year.. A gentleman or a lady spends what their property taxes are in total for that year.
Now that rule isn't true for everyone but on average, it is consistent with the current need and income of the average mid western businessman or businesswomen!!
