Custom Suits?

All,

I was meeting with a young news anchor here in town. As I was explaining the difference between a custom made suit and a ready-made suit, she said something remarkable... "I always have said, before I die I will have a custom made suit." Needless to say I was blown away.

I guess many times people do things that make them feel comfortable. How many times in your life can you say you truly stepped out of the box... Now I am not saying that buying a custom suit is stepping out of the box but think back and see if you are truly putting 100% into everything you do...

I am reminded of the movie Rudy.. "Five Foot nothing, One hundred and nothing, and not a speck of athletic ability... but you hung with the best damn football team in the land.. " Epic Victory.

MAD MEN!!!

All,

Over the last year, we have seen a huge change in what is appropriate and accepted in the work place. First off, the spread collar is gone and has been replaced with the point collar. The flat front pants are now OK for everyone to wear. Finally, the lapels on the jackets are shrinking....

What does any of that mean??

Dive into the old suits your grandfather left you... Chances are, you will be able to pull a few pieces out that actually are current. Think of the show mad men when you are getting prepared to take on the day.. Tie that knot a little skinner, and make your look a little trimmer. Ditch any of your pants that have pleats or cuffs.

Over all, dress like your grandfather!!
